The Massachusetts College Of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts has locked down a campus residence after 17 new COVID-19 cases emerged in the past week.

242 of the college’s 1,100 students live in the Townhouse complex, which Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Gina Puc says is in lockdown mode until April 5th.

“Students are able to congregate outside with their townhouse mates as long as they’re masked, and this is part of CDC and Department of Public Health guidance in that that’s important for mental health, so we’ve identified the perimeter of the townhouse complex,” said Puc.

Students not in isolation will be allowed to pick up meals from the college cafeteria and go to medical appointments including COVID-19 testing and vaccinations during the lockdown.
