LiveWell

LiveWell, also known as Albany Psychological Services for Eating Disorders is a psychological practice committed to the treatment of those who are affected by Eating Disorders.  For years, people of the capital district have been forced to seek treatment out of the area leaving behind family, friends, jobs, and school, all of the things that make living a healthy life so important.  LiveWell aims to provide patients with sound care while keeping them in their lives.

Our LiveWell Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the only program of its kind in the Capital District. This program provides a higher level of care than typical outpatient therapy as well as  “step-down” for those patients recently discharged from inpatient or residential treatment. Our treatment team is made up of a multidisciplinary group of qualified and caring professionals who work individually with each patient to ensure the best outpatient treatment available using only empirically supported therapies. We will work with your insurance company to make treatment as available and as affordable as possible.

LiveWell IOP uses only empirically supported methods of treatment. Specifically, group therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, as well as individual and family therapy and nutrition counseling. Armed with many different types of skills and knowledge, patients find the confidence to fight eating disorders even if they have been unsuccessful in the past.
