WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses reports that White House physician Sean Conley has cleared President Trump to attend and hold public events starting Saturday, despite testing positive for COVID-19 last week.

Dr. Chartock also comments on reports that 13 people have been charged in a plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Also, given the president's illness, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly introducing a bill to explore whether the 25th Amendment should be invoked.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
