Candidates Vie For Vacant Seat On Westchester Board of Legislators

There is a special election Tuesday in Westchester County for a seat on the county Board of Legislators.

Democrat Christine Peters is running against Republican David Tubiolo for the seat vacated by Bernice Spreckman, a Yonkers Republican who retired in June. Tubiolo, who also carries the Conservative, Independence and Reform Party lines, served as Spreckman’s legislative aide for five years. Peters, who also has the Working Families line, ran against Spreckman in 2015. The special election is for District 14, which contains parts of Mount Vernon and Yonkers. Westchester County has 17 legislative districts and legislators serve two-year terms.
