SUNY Plattsburgh has named Alexander Enyedi as its next president. He is currently the provost and vice president of academic affairs at Humboldt University in California.
The Canadian native earned a doctorate in plant pathology and biochemistry from Penn State and spent 22 years as a faculty member at Western Michigan University.
Enyedi’s appointment is effective on January 21. He replaces John Ettling, who retired from SUNY Plattsburgh in June after 15 years leading the school.
Plattsburgh has more than 5,300 students.
