The ousted head of SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Alain Kaloyeros, a former top aide to Governor Andrew Cuomo and six business leaders pleaded not guilty to extortion, bribery and bid-rigging charges in federal court today. Barry Bohrer, the lawyer for former Cuomo aide Joseph Percoco, briefly spoke to reporters in New York City in audio captured by Newschannel 13.

“It’s four to six weeks for us to review the evidence and that’s what we’ll be doing,” said Bohrer. “We’ll have more comments the next time we’re in court.”

Governor Cuomo says the situation is personally sad for him. The Democrat has said he knew nothing of the alleged acts involving upstate economic development projects.
