As demonstrations by those on the left continue across the country in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, marches are scheduled in the Capital Region.

A “Love Trumps Hate” rally touted as a “vigil to resist bigotry and plutocracy” has been organized in Saratoga Springs for Friday evening. Demonstrators plan to organize outside Congress Park and march up Broadway. Organizers say hundreds are planning on attending.

On Saturday, the Capital District Coalition Against Islamaphobia is holding a rally against President-elect Trump’s 100 Days Agenda. The group wants to send a message against deportation, white supremacy, and racism, and support free speech, affordable healthcare, and women’s reproductive rights. The rally will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Townsend Park.

Trump originally blamed the media and “professional protestors” for unrest before walking back those comments.
