DEC Asks Hunters To Report Clues To Find Missing Hunter

NYSDEC

New York environmental officials are asking hunters to be alert for any signs of the hunter who disappeared in Warren County almost one year ago.

DEC Forest Rangers are asking hunters in northeastern Warren County to on the lookout for signs or clues that may help find Thomas Messick.

The 82-year-old Messick, of Troy, was last seen on November 15, 2015 while hunting near Lily Pond Road near Brant Lake in the town of Horicon.

State agencies and police launched a massive two-month search for Messick, who was last seen wearing a camoflauge jacket, coveralls, and a red and black plaid hat.

People who find any evidence of his whereabouts are asked to contact DEC’s Ray Brook Dispatch at 518-897-1300.
