Yaddo Receives Major Gift
The Saratoga Springs artist colony Yaddo has received a major gift to support a new visual arts studio.
Yaddo announced Thursday that it has received a $250,000 gift from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation to support the costs of a live-work studio for a visual artist. The organization is currently constructing five studios on its 400 acres in Saratoga Springs.
Yaddo president Elaina Richardson said the gift “helps to underscore” the organization’s “rich legacy of hosting incredibly talented visual artists at various stages in their careers, from emerging artists to those who are world-renowned, including Helen Frankenthaler.”
The studio is approximately 1,000 square feet. The first studio is expected to be occupied in April.
