New York Governor Andrew Cuomo made Rochester the state's "capital for a day" Thursday: the Democratic governor took his top advisers westward for a day of meetings with local officials, business owners and residents.
Topics discussed at the meetings include the area's burgeoning wine industry, programs addressing local poverty and efforts to combat heroin abuse.
Cuomo says the trip is part of his administration's attempt to focus more attention on upstate New York after years of neglect. He hopes to make similar visits "soon" to other cities around the state.
