A losing bidder for New York state casino license says Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is investigating a state board's recent selection of three casino proposals.
Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural tells The Associated Press Monday that he met last week with a representative from Schneiderman's office. A state board in December chose the Lago Resort Casino proposal over Gural's plan in December.
Gural says he believes a Chicago law firm advising the board had a conflict of interest because it once represented a partner at Lago. But he said he doesn't believe any laws were broken.
A spokesman for the board says it hasn't been contacted by Schneiderman. Messages left with Schneiderman's office and the law firm weren't initially returned. Lago had no comment.
The investigation was first reported by Crain's New York Business.
