Lenox Benefit Concert To Support Berkshire Immigrant Center

A benefit concert for the Berkshire Immigrant Center is scheduled in Lenox, Massachusetts Sunday.

Marjorie Rahima Holstein is co-chair of the One World Concert committee. She says the show at the Trinity Episcopal Church will feature music from across the globe.

“We’re starting with some Klezmer music by Paul Green and Allan Gold, and the new have a group called Viva Quetzal from Northampton, and they’re going to be doing music from Central and South America,” said Holstein.

Local legend James Taylor has donated two VIP tickets to his yearly Tanglewood appearance as well as an autographed book to be auctioned off at the concert. Proceeds from the box office and auction will go to the Berkshire Immigrant Center, which describes itself as the county’s only organization that offers comprehensive immigration services to the county’s more than 10,000 foreign-born residents.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018 after working at stations including WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange.
