Berkshire Immigrant Center Group Holds Citizenship Workshop

For many immigrants, the path to U.S. citizenship is fraught with fears of deportation, separation from family, and confusion about legal requirements. Wednesday night, the Berkshire Immigrant Center is holding a Citizenship Workshop at its headquarters in St. Stephen’s Church in downtown Pittsfield. WAMC spoke with Brooke Mead, the center’s executive director, about what immigrants and the community around them can learn from the session.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
