The Pittsfield Police Department is spotlighting missing teenagers on its social media feeds in an effort to find them.

Pittsfield Police say six of the eight teenagers featured have been found. Officials say they have not received any information to suggest the teens have been victimized, or that their disappearances are connected.

Police say they post on social media to help generate leads — which has been fruitful. One of the missing teens was located within 24 hours of a Facebook post. It reached more than 46,000 people and was shared roughly 1,200 times.

Pittsfield Police say the number of missing teens is not unusual.
