Former First Lady Bush To Honor Artist In Stockbridge

Former First Lady Laura Bush is scheduled to be in Stockbridge today to present an award at the Norman Rockwell Museum.Bush will honor acclaimed children’s book illustrator Jerry Pinkney with the Museum’s Artist Laureate Award this evening. Bush, the wife of President George W. Bush, is a former teacher and librarian. The First Lady asked Pinkney, who has worked on more than 100 books, to provide illustrations for a “Home for the Holidays” display in the White House.

Bush is not new to the Berkshires. She visited The Mount, the historic estate of the late author and humanitarian Edith Wharton in Lenox, Massachusetts, last year.
