Pittsfield’s Barrington Stage Company recently announced the casting for its 2016 season.Tony-award winning performer Michael Rupert will kick off the season May 18 starring in the world premiere of the musical Presto Change-O. Tony-nominee Will Swenson will star in the comedy The Pirates of Penzance. Barrington’s artistic director Julianne Boyd says the season includes a mix of musicals and a drama.

“It’s a very exciting season musically and of course because of American Son which stars Tamari Tunie who you might know as the medical examiner in Law & Order,” said Boyd.

Barrington’s season runs through October 23.
