Two transit authorities in Vermont are merging to create one regional agency.
The Chittenden County Transportation Authority (CCTA) and the Green Mountain Transit Agency (GMTA) will become Green Mountain Transit.
New technology to help passengers including bus tracking and mobile ticketing apps will also be introduced.
The bus agencies are planning to open a new state of the art Downtown Transit Center this year in Burlington.
CCTA provides bus service in the Burlington area and GMTA currently serves much of northwestern Vermont.
