Chittenden County Transportation Authority says they've received a credible proposal from the striking bus drivers.

CCTA says they received the proposal Wednesday night.

According to a news release from the bus company, they say "CCTA remains open to all available options" in order to restore service as quickly as possible.

CCTA says they hope the union's new compromise proposal will advance discussion on wages, work rules, security cameras and the use of part-time drivers.

The strike of about 70 drivers began March 17. The Chittenden County bus routes carried 10,000 passengers a day, including students and workers.
