A talented song and dance man known to television and movie viewers will be part of Tanglewood’s 2016 season.Seth MacFarlane may be known by many as the creator of the animated series Family Guy and the Ted film series, but Boston Symphony Orchestra’s managing director Mark Volpe sees him in another light.
“He’s also one of the great singers,” Volpe said. “It’s the American songbook. The Gershwin. The Cole Porter and all that stuff.”
The Emmy Award-winning MacFarlane will join the Boston Pops on July 10th. Favorites like Yo Yo Ma, John Williams, NPR’s Wait, Wait...Don’t Tell Me and A Prairie Home Companion all return along with BSO music director Andris Nelsons.
The season runs June 25th to September 3rd.
