The official debate season gets under way in Pittsfield Monday as candidates for mayor will meet in a forum at Berkshire Community College.City Clerk Linda Tyer, Donna Walto and Craig Gaetani are challenging Mayor Dan Bianchi’s bid for a third term. A preliminary election Sept. 22nd will decide which two will face off in November’s general election. The winner will serve Pittsfield’s first four-year term. Mayor Bianchi says he is looking forward to the forum.

“I think it’s really important that people get down to paying attention to the issues, understanding people’s records, understanding their qualifications, understanding their character and what they can offer to the people of Pittsfield,” said Bianchi.

The forum starts at 7 at Berkshire Community College. Pittsfield Community Television will broadcast it live.
