Vermont State Police say a woman on her way to catch a flight at the Albany, New York, airport was the driver accused of hitting a state trooper's cruiser in Sunderland and fleeing the scene.

The trooper was on the northbound ramp of a U.S. Route 7 interchange early Monday when a southbound vehicle lost control and crossed the centerline. The cruiser was struck on the driver's side rear door and fender. The trooper wasn't hurt.

Police say they have determined that 46-year-old Valerie Radford of Dorset was the driver. Radford, who is currently in Charlotte, North Carolina, is expected to be charged with careless and negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident. Her lawyer says she is cooperating with police in the investigation.
