Workers Repair Busted Water Line Serving Pittsfield And Dalton

A damaged water main that serves people in Dalton and Pittsfield has been repaired.Workers repaired the busted concrete line that leads to Pittsfield’s Cleveland Water Treatment plant Wednesday night, according to Mayor Dan Bianchi’s office. A contracted worker punctured the line Monday while working on Housatonic Street in Dalton. A water emergency remained in effect for Dalton throughout the day Thursday.

Mayor Bianchi’s office says there shouldn’t be any problem with Pittsfield city water, but localized dirty water has been reported. If dirty water persists, contact the city’s water department at 413-499-9339.
