A Vermont man charged with killing a St. Johnsbury Academy science teacher last year says he's unhappy with his new court-appointed lawyer.
Allen Prue pleaded not guilty to charges that he killed Melissa Jenkins in March 2012. Prosecutors say he and his wife, Patricia Prue, lured Jenkins from her Danville home, strangled and dumped her body in the Connecticut River.
The Caledonian Record reports the 31-year-old Prue, who is being held without bail, filed a handwritten motion to Caledonia Superior Court Judge Robert Bent on Nov. 10 complaining that his attorney, Robert Katims of Burlington, had not been returning his calls or letters.
A call to Katims was not immediately returned to the Associated Press on Tuesday.
