A private college in Dutchess County, New York, is one of the latest schools to announce its blueprint for the fall semester amid COVID-19.

Vassar College President Elizabeth Bradley, in a letter on the Poughkeepsie-based college’s web site, says students may return to campus in the fall. Classes will also be available remotely. A phased return to campus begins August 15. In mid-July, students will receive notification of their move-in dates. Classes start August 31 and will run through November 20, around Thanksgiving, after which the semester will close out remotely. Students must have a coronavirus test taken three to five days before arrival. They will also be required to be tested on campus within the first days of move in and tested again several days later. Dining will be grab-and-go only for at least the first part of the semester. Plus, students who live on campus will have to sign a community care pledge. Meantime, Westchester Community College announced Thursday that it will continue with virtual learning, offering most of its fall classes remotely.
