Dutchess County Exec To Co-Host Ag Forum At The Fair

The Dutchess County Fair is under way. And the county executive was already there when it kicked off Tuesday. He’s back again Thursday for an agricultural forum.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and County Legislature Chairman Gregg Pulver are hosting the 5th Annual Agricultural Advisory Committee Forum at the fairgrounds. Molinaro also will sign the county’s right-to-farm law, which he says allows farmers to use the agricultural practices necessary to run their business free from undue restrictions and interference. Molinaro has been a longtime fan of the fair.

“And since 1990, I have not missed a fair season. My wife thinks I’m a geek; I am, I’m a fair geek,” Molinaro says. “As a kid I used to break into the fair, and now I pay (laughs).”

The 174th Dutchess County Fair, the second largest agricultural fair in New York, runs through Sunday.
