Two New York congressional debates take place in the Hudson Valley Monday evening.
The Orange County Citizens Foundation is presenting a debate in the 18th district with Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney and his Republican opponent, former Congresswomen Nan Hayworth. There is a third candidate who is not part of the debate -- Goshen resident Scott Smith. The debate is at Middletown High School from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
During the same hours and to the north in the 19th district, there is an Ulster County Chamber of Commerce debate with Republican Congressman Chris Gibson and Democrat Sean Eldridge facing off at the M. Clifford Miller Middle School auditorium in Lake Katrine. This race also has a third candidate who is not part of the debate, Woodstock resident Thomas Jenkins, a write-in candidate.
