Dutchess County Exec Expresses His Preference For Casino Licenses

The Grand Hudson Resort and Casino

The Dutchess County executive is endorsing one of the proposed casinos in Orange County.

Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has submitted to the New York State Gaming Commission a letter of support for Greenetrack’s proposed Grand Hudson Resort and Casino at Stewart Airport in Orange County. He says Dutchess has agreements with developers of five of the nine proposed casinos for the Hudson Valley and Catskills, but Greenetrack’s is the best.

“This particular proposal went well above and beyond to protect Dutchess County assets. And that obviously is a concern for me,” says Molinaro.  “I do not want to see Dutchess County tourism sites, Dutchess County venues being diminished.”

In addition:

“I personally believe Sullivan County has earned the right to a casino license,” Molinaro says.

Molinaro says Grand Hudson and a Sullivan County casino would benefit the region.
