A road in a Hudson Valley town will be dedicated Saturday morning to honor local veterans.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro will join with local veterans, elected officials and community members to celebrate Flag Day by dedicating County Route 40A, known as St. Andrews Road, in the Town of Hyde Park, as Dutchess County Veterans Memorial Highway. The dedication was originally suggested by Legislator Joe Incoronato, who serves on the county legislature’s Veterans Affairs Committee. Incoronato said that given that this roadway is only a few miles from the home of FDR, who he calls America’s great WWII leader, he believes Veterans Memorial Highway is an especially meaningful landmark for commemorating the service and sacrifices of veterans. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in the former Stop & Shop parking lot at the corner of St. Andrews Road and Route 9.
