Riverkeeper Holds Beer-Naming Contest

The public has a chance to a name a new beer in the Hudson Valley.

Peekskill Brewery and Elmsford-based Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, both in Westchester County, are brewing a first-of-its-kind collaboration beer to benefit Ossining-based Riverkeeper, New York's clean water advocate.  In a contest that ends September 8, the public may enter a name for the beer via Riverkeeper’s web site. Riverkeeper then will announce finalists and the winner will be selected through social media voting using #hudsonbeer. The winning name will be announced September 24 at a Peekskill Brewery tasting event. The harvest ale will be available to the public at the third-annual Hudson Hop and Harvest festival on the Peekskill waterfront October 4.
