NY Congressional Race Contenders Report Fundraising Amounts

Contenders in a congressional race in the Hudson Valley are divulging their second-quarter campaign fundraising results, ahead of a July 15 deadline for federal filing.

Former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth says she has raised more than $250,000 for the quarter ending June 30. In addition, she loaned her campaign $500,000. The Republican Hayworth says she will report $1.07 million cash on hand. Meanwhile, freshman Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney says he has raised more than $550,000 from April 1 to June 30. His campaign has $1.75 million cash on hand. The congressional race is a rematch from 2012, when Maloney unseated Hayworth, in a close race in what was then a newly drawn 18th district. Hayworth’s campaign raised about $95,000 since defeating Maloney in June’s Independence Party primary.
