Governor Andrew Cuomo Tuesday announced funding for 69 projects across New York to improve and repair 53 state parks and historic sites. WAMC’s Allison Dunne has more on which projects in the Mid-Hudson will be funded.

The Earth Day announcement said the projects are part of $90 million funded in the 2014-15 state budget. More than $6 million of this is headed for eight parks or sites in the Hudson Valley.  Rockland Lake State Park will receive the most funding, at $2 million, to rehabilitate the North Swimming Pool Bathhouse. Harriman State Park will see $1 million to continue renovation of children’s camps. Another $1 million is for FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, to rehabilitate the swimming pool bathhouse and entry plaza. Funding for James Baird State Park in Dutchess County will go toward installing a golf course irrigation system and improving the drinking water system, while a welcome center at Fahnestock State Park will receive money for improvements. Funding also is headed to Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site; to Mills-Norrie State Park; and to Staatsburgh State Historic Site.
