A hospital in Dutchess County is expanding and work is underway this week.

Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck will be adding an 81,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Medical Pavilion. The $47 million facility will feature six operating rooms, 40 private patient rooms, and medical offices. During the construction, all hospital services will remain open. Traffic patterns will change toward the end of April. The Montgomery Street entrance by the Northern Dutchess Hospital Thrift Shop is the only entrance that will be closed during construction. Free valet parking has been added at the main entrance and will be available Monday through Friday during peak hours. Northern Dutchess Hospital is part of the Health Quest family, which also includes Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
