HV County Receives Grant For Rescue Team

Office of the Orange County Executive

In New York, Orange County is on the receiving end of a state homeland security grant.

The close to $150,000 grant will be used to fund equipment for the Orange County Technical Rescue Team, which has about 100 firefighters  and responds at the request of local fire departments. County Executive Ed Diana and the county’s deputy commissioner of the division of fire services say the money will go toward purchasing such materials as confined space rescue equipment; collapse rescue equipment, and rope rescue equipment. The grant was awarded from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.
