Worldwide Day of Play - The Legend of the First Mummy

The Albany Institute is participating in Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play with the goal of inspiring kids through art and helping to provide them with tools to strengthen their individual and collective agency.

The Albany Institute's Worldwide Day of Play program:

12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm | Reading sessions

Join us in the Ancient Egypt gallery to listen to the legend behind the first mummy, Osiris, and learn about the mummification process through the Albany Institute's touch collection.

12–4 pm | Art for All: Create Your Own Mummy

Artists of all ages are invited to the Art Studio to shape a clay figure, decorate strips of linen, and then mummify their clay figure — inspired by the mummy on view in the Ancient Egypt gallery.
