New England folk duo Oakes and Smith will offer an evening of song to celebrate the warmth and spirit of the Christmas season at St. Helena’s Chapel, 245 New Lenox Road, in Lenox, MA, on Saturday, December 13, at 7:00pm. Titled The Holy Moment, this concert offers listeners a moment of stillness and peace during the holiday season, a moment to touch the depths of this joyful and holy time of year. The repertoire will feature a range of sacred and secular, contemplative and festive, and traditional and original holiday music. Joining the duo that night will be multi-instrumentalists Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards. Admission is free, and donations will be gratefully accepted.

With close harmonies, soulful songs, Robert's engaging storytelling, and Katherine’s soaring voice, husband-and-wife folk duo Oakes and Smith creates an ethereal sound not often heard in today’s popular music. Since their start in 2010, the duo has performed in many venues, including The Guthrie Center in Great Barrington, MA; the NJ Folk Project in Morristown, NJ; Infinity Music Hall in Norfolk, CT; FloydFest in Floyd, VA; Andrea Clearfield’s Salon in Philadelphia; The Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA; and Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA.
