According to playwright Cheri Magid, "When I started writing 'Playing Dog', my kids' play about two tween sisters reeling from the death of their dog, I knew I was writing a comedy about grief. What I didn’t know was I was also writing about ultimate frisbee. And what I absolutely didn’t know was I was also writing about death metal. But here we are."
