Ink Therapy comes to the MAC Center: Writing workshop is for anyone with words to spil
What does your pen know that your body hasn’t said yet?
On September 7, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Monument Arts & Cultural Center will host Ink Therapy, a bold new writing workshop led by expressive poet J.S. Lillie, known as the Insomniac Poet.
Ink Therapy is a two-hour guided experience (with breaks) designed for anyone feeling emotionally full, creatively stuck, or just ready to write what’s been waiting. Whether you scribble in margins, write in secret, or speak in metaphor, this space welcomes you.
“Is the news driving you crazy? Fear creeping in?”
“Is everyday life overwhelming your heart, your head?”
Ink Therapy blends poetic prompts, visual design, and emotional truth-telling in a space that’s raw, real, and radically welcoming. It’s part workshop, part ritual, part release. Come write and unearth what’s been waiting. No experience needed – just a pen and a pulse.
“I write the words I cannot say,” says Lillie, whose books “Glass Full of Coffee” and “Unsaid Prayers” have become quiet companions for readers seeking truth in the mess. “Ink Therapy is about making space for those words – on the page, in the body, and in the community.”
The cost of the workshop is $25; supplies are provided. Participants will leave with their notebooks full, a few tactile gifts – prompt cards, chant cards, emotional anchors – and a renewed sense of clarity and connection.
