Dana Cooper CD Release Concert
Dana Cooper CD Release Concert
Nashville-based Acclaimed Singer/Songwriter Dana Cooper is touring in support of two new albums, one of which was recorded live at Caffe Lena one year ago. This release joins a 30-album discography that began with his first Elektra Records album featuring the legendary band "The Section" - AKA " The Immediate Family" - as his session band.
His Latest release "The Ghost of Tucumcari" features an all-star lineup of guests including Lyle Lovett, Hayes Carll, Susan Gibson, Darden Smith, Mando Saenz and more. This album takes listeners on a stirring musical journey across genres from Folk and Rock to Country and Americana.
Quote from Glide Magazine - "The Title Track crackles with a mysterious energy that would make for the background music of a David Lynch film, where dreamlike patterns form out of the subconscious." With Lyle Lovett on vocals, the track encapsulates the essence of true Americana."

Cooper honed his craft in Kansas City coffeehouses and clubs, leading to his 1972 Elektra Records debut. He built his reputation as a folk-country singer-songwriter over the decades on the club circuit while also collaborating with Lyle Lovett, Susan Gibson, Shake Russell, Kim Richey, Hal Ketchum, Kim Carnes, Susan Werner and more. Central to Cooper's unique artistry is his ability to connect with a live audience. His decades of experience shine through in the ease and humor he brings to the stage on Live at Caffe Lena: The Stories & Songs. This special album captures the magic of his Saratoga debut in front of an audience that was clearly having a great time. It marks the first time that Cooper's stories have been included on a recording. A portion of sales will benefit Caffe Lena's mission to provide music, connection and learning from a legendary venue.
