Crossgates Mall Melee: Two Officers Injured, Two Teens Arrested

Fourteen police agencies responded to Crossgates Mall after a fight broke out Saturday night.

Guilderland police say just before 11 p.m. Saturday a fight broke out between several females during an event at the 'Get Air Trampoline Park' which had nearly 500 people in attendance. While officers were attempting to break up the fight a large crowd gathered around them and became unruly. Two police officers were then assaulted by multiple subjects causing the police officers to suffer minor injuries. Two juvenile males were arrested and face felony assault charges: they've been released to their parents' custody. Both police officers refused medical attention.

In 2012, Dave received a Communicator Award of Distinction for his WAMC news story "Fail: The NYS Flood Panel," which explores whether the damage from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee could have been prevented or at least curbed. Dave began his radio career as a “morning personality” at WABY in Albany.
