In recent years, The College of St. Rose in Albany has been experiencing conflict between the administration and faculty. The college has faced financial challenges even as it celebrates enrollment milestones. WAMC's Capital Region Bureau Chief Dave Lucas sat down with St. Rose professor Angela Ledford to discuss a recent faculty letter calling for the president’s removal. Ledford is vice president of the Faculty Association of St. Rose and vice president of the St. Rose chapter of the American Association of University Professors.
The College board of trustees recently responded to the faculty letter, saying, in part: "it is important to convey to you our unwavering support of President Carolyn J. Stefanco and her leadership of the College.
President Stefanco is leading this institution through a changing environment impacting higher education institutions throughout the nation. Change is difficult, but this is the time for the administration and the faculty to get together behind the strategic plan we have charted to help our College succeed."
