A 54-year-old woman was struck and killed in a hit and run while crossing Central Avenue in the Town of Colonie, New York last night. The Times Union reports that Renee Bruneau was stuck by a vehicle between Madison and Hudson Avenues and was rushed to Albany Medical Center where she later died. Town police are asking for assistance in locating the owner of the vehicle which was traveling eastbound.
A 35 year-old man was hit by a empty oil car train near Elm Street in the Town of Colonie around 6:30 yesterday evening. Local media reports the man was run over by 25 cars before the train could come to a complete stop. The Maplewood fire chief says the engineer pulled the emergency brake after seeing the man lying on the tracks. The man was unconscious but breathing until being transported to Albany Medical Center with severe head trauma and a broken back. Police also say shortly after the man was hit, another man, Edward Frament, was arrested for disorderly conduct for refusing to stay out of the crime scene.
