Days after six people were stabbed following a hip-hop concert at the Washington Avenue Armory, prompting Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan to label the venue unsafe, all concerts there have been suspended.
With rap group Migos already banned from the venue after a brawl March 6 that got national headlines, three scheduled concerts at the downtown venue are off, and security, ticketing and arena operations are under review, according to Armory spokesman Joe Bonilla.
“This is in response to ensuring that every patron who enters the Armory for a show, that the Armory takes their safety of paramount importance,” Bonilla said.
The venue said the crowd grew restless when Migos showed up late for its concert and left before a scheduled meet-and-greet. All other non-music events planned at the Armory are still on.
