A longtime University at Albany history professor and expert on colonial Albany was killed after being hit by two cars in Longboat Key, Florida on Tuesday. Police say Warren Roberts was hit while on a walk on his 85th birthday. No charges have been brought in the collision, which also sent a driver to the hospital. Roberts, a distinguished teaching professor emeritus, joined the UAlbany faculty in 1963 and taught there for 45 years. He earned his PhD from UC-Berkeley.
