Here's NewsChannel 13 Meteorologist Jordan Sherman's forecast...

Partly cloudy skies today will give way to some sunshine this morning before afternoon clouds develop. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s with a north wind 5 to 15 mph.

Overcast skies tonight will lend itself to measurable snowfall and then transition to sleet and freezing rain and eventually rain by tomorrow evening.

For the northern Adirondacks and central and northern Vermont, as well as the Champlain Valley...

Organized moderate snowfall will develop between 2-5 am. Lows will be in the teens. Snowfall will be heavy at times around sunrise with total snowfall accumulations before a changeover to sleet ranging from 4-8”. Sleet will begin to mix in with snow during the mid morning, before transitioning to all sleet by the early afternoon. Expect this changeover to occur first in Upstate New York, then in the Champlain Valley. Afternoon sleet, light freezing rain and rain is all possible before precipitation dwindles tomorrow night.

For the Connecticut Valley and Mid and Lower Hudson Valley...

Organized light to moderate snowfall beginning between 2-5 am. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s. Total snowfall accumulations before a changeover to sleet will range from 2-4”. Snow will quickly transition to sleet and freezing rain after 8 am and sleet will transition to rain by 11 am.

For the northern Catskills & Mohawk Valley west of Amsterdam as well as for the southern Adirondacks...

Organized light to moderate snowfall develops between midnight and 3 am. Lows will range from the upper teens to the low 20s.  Snowfall will last until around 7 am tomorrow morning, before mixing with sleet around and eventually transitioning to sleet and freezing rain by 8 am. A transition to rain is then expected after 11 am Total snowfall accumulations before a changeover to sleet will range from 2-4”.

For the southern Catskills, Taconics and southern Berkshires...

Light to moderate snowfall will develop between midnight to 3 am. Lows will range from the upper teens to the low 20s.Snowfall will last until around 7 am tomorrow morning, before mixing with sleet around and eventually transitioning to sleet and freezing rain by 8 am. Total snowfall accumulations before a changeover to sleet will range from 2-4”. Sleet and freezing rain will transition to rain after noon.

For the greater Capital District as well as for the Saratoga area east to southern Vermont and the Berkshires north of I-90...

Organized light to moderate snowfall develops between 1 am – 4 am tomorrow morning. Lows will be in the 20s. Snowfall will last until around 7 am tomorrow morning, before mixing with sleet and eventually transitioning to sleet and freezing rain by 8 am. Total snowfall accumulations before a changeover to sleet will range from 2-4”. Sleet and freezing rain will transition to rain after 11 am.
