Connecticut Woman Killed By Metro-North Train

A commuter railroad says a Connecticut woman trying to retrieve a wallet or handbag from the tracks was killed by a train pulling into the station.

A Metro-North Railroad spokeswoman says the unidentified 28-year-old woman was struck Friday morning at the Cos Cob station in Greenwich. The train was heading to New Haven from Grand Central Terminal in New York.

Rail service was delayed by 30 to 40 minutes. Passengers were transferred to another train.

No other details were immediately available.
