Elsewhere, Russell Westbrook’s 26 points led the Thunder over the Lakers 102-93, LaMarcus Aldridge dropped in 25 as the Trail Blazers stung the Hornets 99-93, and Danny Granger's 25 helped the Pacers down the Wizards 93-89.
To the ice, last night in Boston, Brooks Laich scored in the first round of the shootout, as the Capitals dumped the Bruins 3-2. Washington's tied with Buffalo for the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.
In New Jersey, the Devils scored four goals in the second period, as they outlasted the Lightning 6-4.
In New York, Josh Bailey scored twice and had three assists, as the Islanders knocked off the slumping Penguins 5-3.
Elsewhere, Philadelphia trounced Toronto 7-1, Minnesota skated past Florida 3-2, Chicago got by St. Louis 4-3, and Phoenix blanked San Jose 2-0.
In college basketball, Aaron Bright scored 15 points, as Stanford routed Minnesota 75-51 to win the NIT title. Bright was named the tournament's most outstanding player. The win makes the Cardinal maybe 69th in the country.
The men's NCAA tournament resumes tomorrow.
To baseball, where Oakland earned a split of its season-opening, two-game set with Seattle by grinding out a 4-1 win in Japan. The baseball regular season doesn't pick up again until Wednesday. The Red Sox and Mets begin their 2012 campaigns on Thursday; the Yankees will open up a week from today.
