Montpelier, VT – The five finalists vying to become the next president of the University of Vermont are due on campus next month for public forums. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more...

UVM Spokesman Enrique Corredera told the Burlington Free Press the names of the finalists will be made public before the first interview takes place on January 19th.

Search Committee Chairman Robert Cioffi told the UVM community earlier this month that all the candidates have had successful careers in higher education and have impressive records of scholarly work.

The new president will succeed Dan Fogel, who resigned in August.

The goal is to choose the new president by March 31st and have that person start work on July 1st.

I'm Pat Bradley, WAMC News.
