Boston, MA – The six Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate have focused much of their first debate on the candidate not on stage, incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...

All say they have the best chance to unseat Brown.

Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren faulted Brown for cozying up to Wall Street, while City Year co-founder Alan Khazei said Brown has failed to be a "game changer" in the Senate.

Immigration attorney Marisa DeFranco said she can fight Brown in one of his strongholds in Essex County, state Representative Tom Conroy said he has a record of challenging and beating a GOP incumbent and Newton resident Herb Robinson said his strength is that he isn't a politician.

Self-described "social justice advocate" Robert Massie, warned against a "rush to judgment" among Democrats to support Warren.
