Moretown, VT – U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy is going to help celebrate the reopening of the Moretown Post Office, which had been closed since Tropical Storm Irene flooded broad swaths of Vermont. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...
The 9 a.m. celebration will highlight the work of postal workers who retrieved the mail during the August 28th flooding. Not a single piece of mail was lost despite extensive flooding in Moretown village.
Leahy, a Democrat, will present the post office and its workers with statement from the Congressional Record and a flag that was flown over the United States Capitol for display at the post office.
