Major Vermont Links Continue to Reopen After Flooding

Montpelier, VT – Major Vermont roadways are continuing to reopen to traffic after flood damages from Tropical Storm Irene have been repaired. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...

On Monday, the Vermont Agency of Transportation opened a storm-damaged bridge along U.S. Route 7 in Clarendon. The reopening of the bridge means Route 7 is operating normally along its entire length, from Massachusetts to Canada.

The agency also reopened a storm-damaged portion of Route 100 between Warren and Rochester, eliminating a significant detour around Granville. The Route 100 section remains unpaved so motorists should expect delays.

But portions of a number of major roads remain closed as crews work to repair flood damaged infrastructure.
